We made a pit stop (pun intended!) to pick up some fresh fruit for eating. We carried on to Revelstoke in time for dinner at Nick’s Dad’s home with Bernie, Nick and Samantha.

Tuesday we went down to Halcyon Hot Springs. It’s about an hour south of Revelstoke with a ferry ride on the Arrow Lakes. It was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for sightseeing!

We had a great relaxing time floating around the hot springs pools! There were 4 pools in total at the cute Halcyon Hot Springs Hotel. One pool was 100 F, the hottest one was 107 F, and the plunge pool was an icy 50 F! For the record, Pam did the plunge pool once and I managed twice (very quickly, mind you!) There was another pool on a lower deck overlooking beautiful Arrow Lake and it was a normal pool temp.

We headed back to Revelstoke to pick up Samantha and Nick and head down to Three Valley Gap for a tour around the museum. There was a lot to look at so it took us just about 3 hours to go through and see everything. I’m sure we missed something.

The weather for the whole trip was great! Wednesday we left for home with a quick stop back in Salmon Arm for more fruit.

We also stopped in Kamloops to pick up a few groceries before heading home.

Teresa was nice enough to take some time off work to come home and look after the dogs for us while we were away. We really appreciated her doing that and I know that the dogs really appreciated it as well!

We left on Friday night and went to stay at my Brothers house in Pitt Meadows. We had a great visit with Glenn and Janine. We went out for brunch on Saturday morning and then had coffee at a quaint coffee shop down near the river.

On Saturday afternoon we went over to Gary and Beulah’s in Aldergrove for a BBQ.

We had a great visit with friends that we hadn’t seen for a long time.

On Sunday, we went over to Cherie and Gary’s in Abbotsford for a wonderful brunch!

Sunday afternoon we went to Hope to stay with Pam’s Sister, Colleen and her husband Al. Pam’s parents and her other Sister, Sharon were there when we arrived. Our Niece, Melissa also came out from Chilliwack to have dinner with us.

It was a busy weekend, but we had some great time reminiscing with friends and family!

Teresa worked there full time after she graduated from High School in 2009. She did a great job and took on a lot of responsibility in the running of the shop!

Teresa has since moved to Kamloops and is living with Samantha. Pam is now working at Tim Horton’s and is enjoying not having to worry about employees!

It is nice to see more snow than we got last year.

Samantha came home for Christmas and we invited Nick and Nick’s Dad, Bernie to spend Christmas with us. It was an interesting Christmas and very enjoyable visiting with everyone. They left just after Boxing Day to go skiing in Revelstoke. Bernie lives in Revelstoke and really enjoys the skiing Revelstoke has to offer.

Teresa and I have done a short sled trip around the lake after we volunteered at the Green Lake Snowmobile Club clubhouse for a Poker Ride. It’s a fund raiser for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities.

Pam has enjoyed her time away from the coffee shop! For anyone who is not aware, we have decided to shut the cafe down. Pam is starting a new job at the newly reconstructed 70 Mile store. She is looking forward to being an employee again!

Teresa is moving to Kamloops at the end of January and she is actively looking for work there and in September she will be starting her studies at TRU (Thompson Rivers University). She will be living with a girlfriend, Shelby, that she went to school with in 100 Mile. She is looking forward to getting out on her own!

Samantha is busy with her studies at TRU.  Her and her roommates and Nick keep busy with extracurricular activities as well. Ballroom dancing and swimming are some of the more popular activities.

the lake. Yesterday there was a young bald eagle sitting on the ice fishing. There have been lots of different birds out yesterday.

It’ll soon be lunch time and then a quick walk with the dogs in the bush.

The walk is like an agility course where they jump up and over logs and underneath bushes. It’s great exercise for them and me!

With the Internet starting to mature, there is a lot of software out there that makes it easy to have a professional looking website with very little technical expertise. We are currently using WordPress for our site which is basically a sophisticated front end that is easy to use.
